‘Winter Wedding at Bolton School

When one thinks of their perfect wedding venue, a school is perhaps not the first location that springs to mind. However, the historic and overall, stunning Bolton School with its lush green grounds and turrets reminiscent of Hogwarts regularly plays host to an array of events, including some fabulous weddings. As it turned out, this striking building was the ideal venue for Joanna and Chris’s superb early December wedding.
On Joanna and Chris’s special day, Luxury Events Group were there to make sure the venue looked amazing for their arrival. After a thorough consultation discussing themes and ideas, the couple had chosen on a delicate ivory and rose pink scheme with plenty of candles and lanterns and natural details such as trees and petals – perfect for a winter wonderland wedding!
The team started with the ceremony room, where they arranged clusters of candles floating within glasses vases of various shapes and sizes, instantly transforming the room’s atmosphere into something whimsical and enchanting.Next, eight clear plinths with elegant cherry blossom trees were added to either side of the aisle. The transparency of the plinths allowed the candles’ flames to shine and flicker through, giving them an almost invisible and ice-like appearance which played the part to the wintertime aesthetic of the occasion. Each tree was then ornamented with several beautiful glass lanterns hanging from the branches. The team secured them with silver wire to add a frost-bitten, wintry feel. The spectacular display was finished with a sprinkling of white rose petals amongst the floating candles.
The reception was equally as breath-taking; the cherry blossom trees played a new role as centerpieces for the tables where there were surrounded by floating candles and a scattering of rose petals. The guest’s chairs were decorated with white covers and pink sashes whilst each table was adorned with a dazzling rose sequined table cloth, making the whole room sparkle!
The real spectacle of Joanna and Chris’s reception was without a doubt, the Top Table. It featured clusters of glass vases encompassing floating candles of ivory and dusky pink, white hydrangeas and pink roses. The team chooses to add yet more petals to this special table to truly transform it into something magical.
The décor of this glittering winter wedding was finally complete and the beautiful bride’s reaction said it all as she burst into tears of joy and happiness, hugging each member of the team and declaring it was more than she could have ever dreamed of. The wintry details made all the difference to this bride and groom’s big day!
